Post Surgery FAQ

What Does Post-Surgery Mean?

Post surgery refers to the recovery period after a surgical procedure. During this time, the body heals, and specific care measures, such as wearing facial compression garments, following a proper diet, and avoiding strenuous activities, are essential to ensure optimal recovery and long-term results. Post-surgery care varies depending on the type of procedure, such as liposuction, tummy tuck, facelift, or other cosmetic or medical surgeries.

How to Reduce Swelling Post Surgery?

Swelling is a common side effect after surgery, but it can be managed effectively with these tips:

  1. Wear Compression mask or garments: Compression vests or facial garments help minimize swelling by applying gentle pressure to the treated areas, promoting fluid drainage and circulation.
  2. Elevate the Affected Area: Keep the surgical area elevated to reduce fluid accumulation.
  3. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and reduce bloating.
  4. Follow a Low-Sodium Diet: Excess salt can cause water retention, so opt for fresh, whole foods.
  5. Use Cold Compresses: Apply cold packs (wrapped in a cloth) to the area to reduce inflammation.
  6. Avoid Strenuous Activities: Rest and avoid activities that may increase swelling during the initial recovery phase.

What is the Pressure of Compression Garments?

Our postoperative compression garments are scientifically designed with a pressure value strictly controlled between 40-50mmHg. This range is medically proven to effectively promote postoperative recovery, help reduce swelling and scar hyperplasia, and ensure comfort and avoid excessive pressure. Why Do You Wear Compression Garments After Surgery?

Compression garments are an important tool for postoperative recovery and have the following effects:

  1. Reduce swelling: Promote lymph and blood flow through even pressure, help drain excess fluid, and reduce swelling.
  2. Promote blood circulation: Improves blood circulation, accelerate wound healing and tissue repair.
  3. Contouring effect: Helps skin and soft tissue conform to the contours of the body, ensuring a more natural and long-lasting surgical effect.
  4. Provide support: Reduce postoperative discomfort and provide additional support and protection to the surgical site.

What To Eat Post-Surgery?

A healthy diet is crucial for recovery after surgery. Focus on:

  • Protein-Rich Foods: Eggs, lean meats, fish, beans, and tofu help repair tissues and promote healing.
  • Fruits and Vegetables: Rich in vitamins (like Vitamin C) and antioxidants, they boost immunity and reduce inflammation.
  • Whole Grains: Oats, brown rice, and quinoa provide energy and aid digestion.
  • Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, and olive oil support cell repair and reduce inflammation.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water and herbal teas to flush out toxins and stay hydrated.
  • Avoid Processed Foods: Limit sugar, salt, and processed foods, as they can cause bloating and delay healing.

How Long Do I Need to Wear a Post-Surgery Headgear?

The wearing time of a compression garment usually depends on the type of surgery and personal recovery.

Generally speaking, it is recommended to wear it for about 23 hours a day in the early stage after surgery (1-2 weeks), and only take it off briefly when bathing or washing. After entering the mid-term recovery stage (3-4 weeks), you can gradually reduce the wearing time to 12-20 hours a day. In the later stage (5-6 weeks), depending on the recovery, wear it for 8-12 hours a day until the doctor confirms full recovery.

It should be noted that the specific wearing time should follow the doctor's advice, because different surgeries and personal physiques may affect the recovery progress. Ensuring that the compression garment is worn correctly can not only speed up recovery, but also help shape the ideal surgical effect.

How to Choose the Right Size of Compression Vest?

Choosing the right size of compression vest is the key to ensuring the recovery effect after surgery. First, use a soft tape measure to accurately measure the relevant dimensions of the surgical site, such as waist circumference, chest circumference, or hip circumference, and refer to the size chart we provide to make a selection.

In addition, considering that there may be significant swelling in the early stage after surgery, you can choose a slightly larger size and change to a more fitting style after the swelling subsides. The right compression garment can not only improve comfort, but also maximize the recovery effect.

Can Compression Garments be Washed? How to Maintain?

Our compression mask and vest can be washed, but the correct method must be used to maintain their elasticity and effect. It is recommended to wash them every day or every other day to maintain hygiene. When washing, use a mild detergent and choose to wash by hand or machine (select the gentle mode). After washing, it should be dried naturally, avoiding direct sunlight or using a dryer to prevent high temperatures from damaging the elastic fibers.

In addition, do not use bleach or strong detergents, as these chemicals may damage the structure of the fabric. Check the elasticity and pressure effect of the compression garment regularly, and replace it in time if it is found to be loose or damaged.
